Slow Progress…

I didn’t accomplish nearly as much as I wanted to last night- but sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan, lol. The good news, though, is that the fuse box is mounted, the battery wiring is all sorted out, and the engine harness is installed. All I need to do is extend the lower engine harness and install that, and I should be all set on the wiring front!

The dash and seats are just sitting in the car, but I should be able to actually bolt both of them in at this point. It will be really nice to have the interior all back together:

I ended up making a bracket for the fuse box out of some angle iron I had laying around, and used some existing studs from the HVAC system to mount it up. The box won’t be visible when thew glove box is installed, but will still be pretty easy to access and give me full use of my glove box. Not my best work, but it should serve its purpose:

After I spent what felt like forever messing with that stuff, I installed my new Do-Luck RXB that arrived yesterday! Really stoked to have finally found one of these- let alone a brand new one! Install wasn’t fun, but was fairly straightforward:

Really happy with the new interior additions this winter! I’m excited to have it all back together by sometime next week. I’m going to try to focus on getting the engine tossed together just so that I can confirm it runs correctly. After I have fired it up and everything seems to be in good shape, I will go back through it to add some new additions and further pretty things up.

I’m Gonna Try This…

I decided tonight that I would really like to try to post here at least once a day with some sort of original content. It might just be a cell phone shot of how the car sits that day, but I think it would be good for me to post at least one pic related to the car per day if I can. Let’s  see how long I make it! lol.

I got a couple of goodies today from my good friend Russell at NissanParts.cc. Russell gave me a great deal on some parts from his personal collection- so stoked! Thanks again for hooking me up, man.

I’ve wanted to do an S13.4 valve cover for a while now, so I was really excited when this came along. Brand new OEM SR20 S14 valve cover & gasket, new ARC coil pack cover, and a new Tomei coil pack cover:

I am going to have my good friend Mike help me with the welding and cutting to convert the front of the valve cover to S13 spec. I’ll probably switch between coil pack covers from time to time- I think both are discontinued, so I couldn’t pass on either of them.

I am thinking about shaving the letters off of the cover, but I am currently undecided. I will be running -8 or -10 AN fittings to a catch can, but I haven’t decided which one yet. As for the color, I think I am going to stick with wrinkle red- it compliments the red interior items really well. We’ll see though! Feel free to let me know what you think would look cool.

I’ll be sure to install some new shiny hardware to bolt it in as well. Thanks for reading!

Back Home

Well, the engine is back in the car! I’ve still got a ton of work to do, but I hope to try firing it up in a couple weeks to see how the wiring worked out. I’m going to try to finish the wiring and the battery relocation and installing the wiring harness this week!

Spring?

Probably not, but sunshine made its return to Michigan yesterday! It was awesome to get some work done on the car in shorts and a tee-shirt. The sanding and filler is basically all set, so I threw down a coat of SEM etch primer. I have one or two small spots I want to mess with a little bit more, but for the most part this thing is ready for paint!

Now to track down some transportation…
