A Little Progress

I actually managed to work on my car a little bit last night! I got the hangers straightened out on the Trust DD so that the tips are centered between the rear valences. I bolted it up completely, and I am really happy with the fitment of the exhaust. Looking forward to hearing what it sounds like this weekend.

After sorting the exhaust out, I removed the hood pins from the hood and took the stock hood latch off to see how the hood fit. Without the factory latch in place, the hood sits nicely and actually fits really well. It’s not 100% perfect, but I think it is going to look great with the pins relocated and the hood painted.

Proposed sticker fitment:

Hoping to make more progress next week! Getting really close to taking it for a spin. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Test Fit

I got a little free time to test fit my new catback last night. It’s a little bit off center, so I need to take it back off and move the hangers a little bit to make sure it mounts up straight in the opening between the rear valences. I think it should look really cool when it is mounted correctly though:

I also got the front hubs and brakes back on the car. Temporary spacers come for the front tomorrow, so that will allow me to put the car on the ground. I probably won’t do that until I finish the brakes, though. I ordered the fittings and tubing I need to make my own lines today, so hopefully that will go down next week.

I decided to try to run -AN fittings and braided hoses for the vacuum line that runs from the brake booster to the intake manifold. I ordered a fitting for the booster, so I will have my buddy Mike weld that on before the booster is painted next week. Should be pretty cool hopefully! Stay tuned and hopefully I will make some progress. Would really love to have this thing on the road by the end of the month!

Well…

Here I am, neglecting the blog again lol. My bad guys- life has been crazy with the baby coming very soon! For now, here are a couple snaps of my new exhaust- TRUST DD.

Hopefully I will have some time later this week to install it and work on some other parts of the car. It sucks to be so close, but not have the time to get the finishing touches together! I’m sure it will all come together soon enough though.

Garage Life

My garage has looked like a bachelor’s garage for the last week or so. This would not be a problem if I were a bachelor, lol! Hoping to get the subframe all reassembled this week so that I can get my wife’s car back in the garage for her. If things go my way, this should be a productive couple of weeks. Sorry about going MIA for the last week or so- stay tuned over the next couple of days!

More Blitz Type 03

Thanks to Tito down in PR, these things should be here by the end of next week:

I’ll be running the fronts until my fronts are done at Wheel Flip. I’ll be cleaning them up and either painting the faces silver, or hand polishing them before I toss them on the car. Should look decent enough until my relipped fronts are done. Can’t wait to get it back on the ground!

Interior Complete!

I didn’t plan to have any free time to work on the car until Thursday at the earliest, but I ended up with some time last night and stayed up late to get the interior all busted out. It’s awesome to have the car essentially back together at this point!

I also replaced the hardware for the fenders, headlight assemblies, and cooling panel with stainless button head screws.

Next up is dropping the rear subframe to install the new subframe risers and Z32 rear brake setup. Hoping to drop the subframe and get to work on Friday night!
